Adhan Across the World

Subhaan Allah… this is my all time favorite forwarded email message 🙂 Enjoy!

——————————————————————————————

In The Name Of Allah, The Most Merciful & The Most Beneficent”

“ADHAN”

Assalam-u-Alaikum Everyone,

Amazing as it sounds, but fortunately for the Muslims of the world, it is an established fact.

Have a look at a map of the world and you will find
Indonesia on the eastern side of the earth. The major cities of Indonesia are Java, Sumatra,
Borneo and Saibil. As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, the Fajr Adhan begins.

Thousands of Muaddhins in
Indonesia begin reciting the Adhan.

The process advances towards
West Indonesia. One and a half hours after the Adhan has been completed in Saibil, it echoes in
Jakarta. Sumatra then follows suit and before this auspicious process of calling Adhan ends in Indonesia, it has already begun in
Malaysia.

Burma is next in line, and within an hour of its beginning in Jakarta, it reaches Dhaka, the capital city of
Bangladesh. After Bangladesh, it has already prevailed in western India, from Calcutta to
Srinagar. It then advances towards Bombay and the environment of the entire
India resounds with this proclamation. Srinagar and Sialkot (a north city in
Pakistan) have the same timing for Adhan. The time difference between Sialkot, Quetta, and Karachi is forty minutes, and within this time, the Fajr Adhan is heard throughout
Pakistan. Before it ends there, it has already begun in Afghanistan and
Muscat. The time difference between Muscat and
Baghdad is one hour. The Adhan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaaz-e-Muqaddas (Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah), Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and
Iraq.

The time difference between Baghdad and Alexandria in
Egypt is again one hour. The Adhan continues to resound in Syria, Egypt, Somalia and
Sudan during this hour. The time difference between eastern and western
Turkey is one and a half hours, and during this time it is echoed with the call to prayer.

Alexandria and Tripoli (capital of
Libya) are located at one hour’s difference. The process of calling the Adhan thus continues throughout the whole of
Africa. Therefore, the proclamation of the “Tawheed” and “Risaalat” that had begun in Indonesia reaches the Eastern Shore of the
Atlantic Ocean after nine and half hours. Prior to the Adhan reaching the shores of the Atlantic, the process of the “Dhuhr Adhan” has already started in east Indonesia, and before it reaches Dhaka, the “’Asr Adhan” has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta one and half hours later, the time of “Maghrib” becomes due, and no sooner has “Maghrib” time reached Sumatra, the time for calling the “’Isha Adhan” has commenced in Saibil!

When the Muaddhins of Indonesia are calling out the “Fajr Adhan”, the African Muaddhins are calling the Adhan for Isha.

If we were to ponder over this phenomenon thoughtfully, we would conclude the amazing fact that there is not even a single moment when hundreds of thousands of Muaddhins around the world are not reciting the Adhan on the surface of this earth. Even as you read this material right now, you can be sure there are at least thousands of people who are hearing and reciting the Adhan!!!

    Salaam:
What a lovely post 🙂 And it only speaks of Islamic countries. Wherever there are Muslims in any country, this is also true. As the earth revolves every 24 hours, everywhere in the world, some prayers are being called or recited. And the whole earth resounds with its call to Allah, the Merciful and Compassionate.

    Alhamdulillah!

I would to add that Adhan is not recited in the Muslim countries only. I can actually claim that there isn’t a country in the world where it doesn’t have any muslims, there must be at least few of them, and this minority will obviously have a Mosque (Masjid), therefore, just to support this theory, simply, every country in the world recites the adhan 5 times a day, so we can conclude that every moment there is a place where muslims are reciting athan, Sub’hanAllah ! Glory to Allah!

    Salam Alikum

Thank you both for your comments! You’re both right… this post only refers to Muslim countries but there are Muslims all over the world in countries that aren’t predominantly Muslim.. and of coures the Adhaan is heard there as well so as the second brother commented, we can conclude that there are Muslims calling the adhaan everywhere and all of the time.
    Subhaan Allah! How beautiful 🙂

Thanks again for your comments and we hope you’ll continue to check out our posts!

    Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

I have recently bumped at adhan time calculator website and surfed it for while. I saw salat prayers times in all sort of locations, even on the far north of the globe. The funny thing occured to me: as you say “As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern side of Saibil, at approximately 5:30 am local time, the Fajr Adhan begins…” Well… there are places where sun does not go down for about half of a year 🙂 And still our bros and sisters give tributes to Allah…

Ten causes that result in Allah’s love for His slave and the slave’s love for his Lord – By Imam ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

1. Reciting the Qur’aan while pondering over its meanings and what is meant by it. 2. Getting closer to Allah by performing voluntary deeds after completing obligatory deeds. This is as is stated in a Hadeeth Qudsi: “My slave continues getting closer to Me by performing voluntary deeds until I love him.” [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree] 3. Continual remembrance of Allah under all circumstances, with one’s tongue, heart and actions. The extent of one’s love of Allah is determined by this. 4. Giving precedence to what He loves over what you love when you are overtaken by your desires. 5. The heart being avid of Allah’s Names, and Attributes and the heart roaming in that garden of knowledge. 6. observing Allah’s kindness, goodness and bounties, both hidden and open. 7. And this is the most wonderful, the heart being soft, subdued and meek before Allah. 8. Being alone with Allah during the time when the Lord descends during the last portion of the night while reading His Book and ending that by asking for forgiveness and repenting. 9. Sitting with the beloved and sincere, benefiting from the most fruitful of their speech. And not to speak unless speaking is more beneficial and you know that it will improve your state and be beneficial to others. 10. Remaining away from every cause that comes between the heart and Allah. These ten causes take the lovers to the station of true love and bring them to their Beloved.
